About Us
Our Society
Spalding & District Civic Society was founded in 1960. Registered as a Charity in 1969, we are a non-political, volunteer-led organization, that aims to bring together individuals who care deeply about the character, vitality, and future of our town and its surrounding district. Our mission is to champion thoughtful development, protect local heritage, and to encourage a greener, more vibrant town.
Our Society is driven by our members, who come from all walks of life and backgrounds, with single belief that Spalding can be a town that we can all be proud of.
Our income is derived from membership subscriptions, donations and one of grants towards specific projects.
All who volunteer for the Society give their time freely without any form of remuneration.
We are a member of Civic Voice, the national charity for Civic Societies in England, and the Lincolnshire Heritage Forum. We are also represented on Spalding Town Forum.
